Winter Park FL Boat Parade and Festival of Lights 2010

I'll be taking the family out this evening to the shores of Rollins College for the Winter Park Boat Parade and Festival of Lights which takes place at 6:45 on Lakes Virginia and Osceola. (See map below)

Hey, this is a free event!

If you haven't attended one of these shows I encourage you to give it a try. You will be impressed with some spectacular illuminated watercraft, beautifully decorated in Christmas lights and can be seen from either the shores of Rollins or from the Albin Polasek Museum.

The event begins with water ski show from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. A team of 25 professional skiers will be performing choreographed skiing and stunts to music, and I hear many of these performers are "retired" from the old Cypress Garden ski shows.

Starting at 5pm, there will be several festivities going on at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens with food, music, and very possibly a special visit from Santa Claus.

The evening concludes with a fireworks show at 8:00pm at the shores of the Albin Polasek Museum. Maybe I'll see you there!
