Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2014

The life of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. is closely linked to Realtors. In the summer of 1966, he moved to Chicago and engaged in a series of marches, appealing to real estate practitioners in the city to end discriminatory housing practices. King's call for open housing led to the 1968 passage of the Fair Housing Act.

The next time you're Winter Park FL, visit the serene Martin Luther King, Jr. Park. The 23-acre park is centered by a tranquil lake that features both a fountain and a community-built bridge, beautiful scenery, sports and recreation facilities, and an extra-large playground.
