This week's highlighted Park is Ward Park located at Cady Way and Perth Lane in Winter Park FL.
Ward Park is an athlete’s dream park. Most of the 66.44-acres is dedicated for baseball/softball fields, soccer/multi-purpose fields and a football/track stadium. A state-of-the-art, disabled-accessible playground is on the property which was made possible by a community-build program coordinated by KABOOM with corporate sponsorships from Sprint and Easter Seals of Central Florida.
From the athletic facilities to the playground to the trail through the wetlands, Ward Park is one of the most diverse parks in the city.
Amenities: 25 picnic tables, four tennis courts, 10 baseball/softball fields, five soccer fields, one playground, one reservable pavilion, one barbeque grill, one stadium, two concession buildings, restrooms, a fitness trail, a bike trail, an asphalt walking path, a little league complex and one olympic-sized pool.
